Developed for the United States Navy under a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract, the Mosquito MJU is the world's smallest guided parachute system. Barely bigger than a mobile telephone, the Mosquito MJU can autonomously fly and precisely emplace Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) after a 10,000g launch from an ALE-47/MJU-10b counter measures (flare/chaff) canister.

By conforming to the MJU-10b form factor the Mosquito MJU can be launched from any aircraft equipped with ALE-47 counter measures dispenser systems. Current US platforms are:

Transport C-5, C-17, C-130, C-141
Rotor VH-3D, VH-60N, HH-60H, CH-47
UAV Predator
Fighter F-4, F-5,F-16, F-18
Other P-3
Note: Can be hand tossed from any aircraft without ALE-47
