Up until now the only method available for accurately placing sensors into denied areas was to send in a team of Specialized operators to deliver the sensor by hand.

Developed by STARA to specifically to address this problem, the Mosquito Sensor Delivery System provides the ability to accurately deliver that same sensor from a wide array of conventional and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) while minimizing the possibility of detection, political embarrassment and most importantly the risk to human life.

At the most recent NATO PACD 08 precision air drop conference, STARA released a Mosquito Sensor Delivery System carrying a 5 pound "Fake Rock" Unattended Ground Sensor (UGS) from a C-130 flying at 7,000 feet and 2 miles off the coast of France. The Mosquito placed the sensor within 10 meters of the target and then performed a concealed landing more than 100 meters away.

Earlier in the year at the most recent US Army Precision Airdrop Technology Conference and Demonstration (PATCAD 07) in Yuma, Arizona, three different Mosquito Sensor Delivery Systems placed Unattended Ground Sensors at 3, 7 and 11 meters from the target after being released from a USAF C-130 flying at 10,000 feet and over 2 miles away.
